Fable: The Monkey and the Crocodile - Rollin

     Dear Mrs.Hamilton,

I am reading a fable text called "The Monkey And the Crocodile" by Rohini Chowdhury. I have never heard of this author so I'm looking forward to reading this story.
When I first read the title I made a prediction that there was going to be a crocodile that would eat the monkey. When I read the first paragraph it had said that the monkey had no family, that made me ask 2 questions, where was the monkey born? How was the monkey born?
I thought it was very kind of the crocodile to make friends with the monkey because most crocodile stories and real life crocodiles would eat the monkey. In paragraph 3 I started to wonder if crocodiles really do eat fruit because I don't know that much about crocodiles. I never thought a river would run out of fish.
I didn't like the crocodile's wife. She was very mean because what if it was her friend that the husband wanted to eat? If I were this male crocodile, I'd hate to admit it I would've chosen my friend. I just don't know why the male would still love her. It's his friend.
My favourite part of this fable was when the monkey and the crocodile became friends. I really enjoyed that part because that was the monkey's first and only friend.
When I read the title I thought it was a little dull but then when I actually read the text I thought it was very interesting, parts like "If you love me you will get your friend the monkey and let me eat his heart." I thought this sounded mysterious and made me wonder who he would choose and what would happen! I love reading books like this.
If you read this I hope you enjoyed it because it got my attention!
          Your student,
