Dear Mrs.Hamilton,
I read this tale called " Little Kay " and I thought it was one of the best tales ever! I think that beceause Little Kay was so brave that she kept telling the old magician that she wanted to serve the Sultan even though it was only for boys, she still went!
There was a part where the Sultan VERY suspicous about Little Kay because he kept thinking that Little Kay is not a boy, she's a girl but his tests did not work but still got more suspicous every time!
The finominal part of the story was when littler Kay showed her bravness and strength to the evil ogre and actually defeated him plus she saved all of the people and the kingdom!
A question that came into my mind was why was Little Kay the bravest even though she was the youngest?
Well I had a super time reading this tale and I hope you will be interested in reading this tale too!
Sincerely,
Daniyal

Rollin - Tale: How Raven Freed the Moon
Dear Mrs.Hamilton,
I have just started a book called "How The Raven Freed The Moon." When I read the first 3 pages it made me want to read more , which is what the author wanted to do. Also, the first three pages were pretty strong I wanted to read the rest, it made me want to cling on to the book, and not let go!
On page 17, I thought it was pretty weird of the fisherwoman to say to the daughter "Is it your baby?" because if the daughter had a baby I'm sure that the daughter would tell the fisherwoman.
When I had first read this fable I thought it was really rude to prank the daughter and fisherwoman like that. But it did make the story much more interesting.
I didn't actually understand at the end, who was the bad guy?The daughter and fisherwoman "stole" the moon (somehow) from the sky. But the raven tried to steal the moon like the mother and daughter did.
I loved this fable more then any other I have ever read! I would tell you the ending but I wouldn't want to spoil the rest of the story for you!

Rajpreet - Fable: the Fox and the Crow
Dear Mrs. Hamilton,
Today I read an interesting fable called "The fox and the Crow". There are two charcters in this fable a fox and a crow. I have never heard of this fable before.
The fox is a very clever fox in this fable. What he does is that he makes the crow talk and let's the meat fall out of the crows beak and then he grabs the meat and runs away. I had thought that was a very clever way to get the meat from the crow.
I disliked the part when the fox says that the crow needs a brain. I thought that was mean of him to say. I liked the part when the author said "black as night, shiny as wet leaves and a real flower from the sky". I thought those were some great similes. I had felt bad for the crow because the fox had took the meat from her.
I thought this fable was great. I really enjoyed this fable.
Sincerely,
Rajpreet

Allison: Tale - How Raven Freed The Moon
Dear Mrs.Hamliton,
I read the fable "How raven freed the moon".I liked this fable.
I especially liked the end because when the old fisherwoman and her daughter realized that the moon they had kept for themselves looked better in the sky.
I had lots of questions to this story, like "how did the raven turn into a baby?", "how did the family take the moon?" I want to know how things happen.
It confused me because when they said "the baby, was of course raven" they said the same thing everytime.
I really enjoyed reading this fable.

Melody: "How The Raven freed The Moon"
Dear Mrs. Hamilton,
I am reading "How The Raven Freed The Moon."
I like the part when the raven saved the moon from that box.
I don't like the part when the "fisherwomen" got the daughter to try to make the baby (Raven) to stop crying.
I don't think that the Raven is smart because he did not think about how much the moon would weigh because he was putting it in his beak and it almost slipped out. So he threw it in the sky and it landed in a cloud but what if it did not make it and it landed on the ground and smashed!
Hope you enjoy the book your reading!
Sincerely,
Melody

Daniyal: Tale - The Rajah's Rice
Dear Mrs.Hamilton,
When I read the tale "The Rajah's rice", I enjoyed reading it because the character called "Chandra" was so nice at the end of the story because she requested to the Rajah to get all of the rice from him for the people. Chandra saved the Rajah's elephants so the Rajah promised Chandra to give her rice.
The part I was surprised on was when the servants were putting rice on each square of the checker board but the Rajah was being unfair and telling his servants to so other things with the rice like put less rice on the squares. I tried to figure out how many pieces of rice would be on the checkerboard at the end. My answer was 10446744032749551616.
I really liked how the author had clear pictures in the story so we can see them properly.
I really like this tale and I hope you do!
Sincerely,
Daniyal

Aaron - Tale: Raven Freed the Moon
Dear Mrs. Hamilton,
I read this fantastic tale called How Raven Freed Moon. You should really read this tale.
This tale confused me a little because how does someone catch a moon but you are very smart so you would understand it.
This tale reminded me of the time my brother tricked me to get money.
I liked the part when raven was the baby and when raven almost dropped the moon in the ocean.
So that's why the tale is fantastic.

Zerina - Fable: The Fox and the Crow
Dear Mrs.Hamilton,
I just finished reading the story "The Fox And The Crow". I liked this story.
But a really mean fox tricked the crow. And he said the Crow had no brain! Now that's just plain mean. He just crossed the line!
If I were the Crow I would have said something mean back to that mean old fox. But the best thing to do is just to walk away and ignore what the mean devil said!
This reminds me of the time that my brother tricked me. When I had my MP3 in my hand and my brother took it away from me and he kept it for an hour.
That is what I thought of this amazing story, You should really read it.

Aleks - Fable: The Lion and the Mouse
Dear Mrs Hamilton,
I read a fable called the lion and the mouse. This reminded me of the think win win because the mouse didn't get eaten and the mouse saved the lion from getting taken.
I think the moral is think win win. They both won. The lion called the mouse his friend. I liked how he didn't want to eat the small mouse because he was funny.
Sincerely,
Aleks

Rajpreet - Fable: The Fox and the Grapes
Dear Mrs. Hamilton,
Today I read afable called "The Fox and the Grapes".
The part I liked in this fable was when the fox keptn trying and trying. I also liked when the author had said "Fox's mouth watered as he gazed longingly at them". That made me visualize him drooling and staring at the grapes.
The moral of this story was "It is easy to despise what you cannot get." I had really enjoyed this fable.

Jessica - Fable: The Fox and the Grapes
Dear Mrs Hamilton,
While I was reading a fable called The Fox and the Grapes I predicted that eventuly the fox would get the grapes and the message would be keep at it and eventuly you will get it. Once I finished the story I realized it wasn't right. The actual message is "It is easy to despise what you can not get".
I liked the way the author described what fox felt like when he saw the grapes it said "the fox's mouth watered as he looked longingly at them." Although the author did not directly tell the reader that he wanted the grapes instead he showed you with his words.
I wondered why the fox gave up like he did. If I was the fox I would of kept trying until I get the grapes because he's basicly throwng out food.
When the fox was jumping for the grapes it reminded me of a time I could not reach something. I was standing in my tippy toes to try to get a water bottle from the top shelf of our cabinet. Eventually I just climbed up on the counter.
Sincerly,
Jessica

James - Fable: The Lion and the Mouse
Dear Mrs Hamilton
I have just read the great fable "The Lion and the Mouse". I find the story's moral is something like "Trust is a sixth sense as in you need to have it or bad things can happen."
Also I think instead of telling the mouse to go away the lion should have told the mouse to go on guard because he's so small no one would see him.
And if I was the mouse I would of asked the lion a lot of random questions to try to confuse him incase he didn't let me go.
Sincerely James

Mahera - Fable: The Tortoise and the Hare
Dear Mrs.Hamiltion,
I am reading a fable called the ''The Tortoise And The Hare'' and the starting of the story reminded me of my brother because my brother always braggs about how fast he is he thinks he can bet anybody but that is not true. One day I proved my brothr worng too just like the Tortoise did. He proved the Hare that when you take your time you can win.
The moral said slow and steady wins the race and that is how the Tortiose won the race. What I learned is if you think someone eles is slow there probably are faster then the person who is opposing them.
Sincerely,
Mahera

Rajpreet - Fable: The Tortoise and the Hare
Dear Mrs. Hamilton,
Today I read this wonderful fable called "The Tortoise and then Hare." In this fable their are two characters a speedy Hare and a slow and steady Tortoise.
In this fable I liked the part when the Tortoise wins the race slow and steady. I disliked the part when the hare bragged about how fast he was. I thought it was really nice of Tortoise's friends to cheer for him when he had won.
At the end of the story Hare had gotten his lesson which is "don't brag about how fast you are."
I had really enjoyed this fable. This fable is one of my favourites. The moral of this story was slow and steady wins the race.
Sincerely,
Rajpreet

Matthew - Fable: The Tortoise and the Hare
Dear Mrs.Hamilton,
I have recently read a fable called " The Tortise and the Hare".
I found some interesting parts just like "Don't brag about your lightning pace for slow and steady won the race". I found this interesting because when I was little I thought the hare won. But as they say slow and steady wins the race.
When I read this fable he or she didn't have really any setting. He or she could add Hare stretched himself out on aroad beside the woods and fell asleep.
All fables have morals for the Tortise and the hare it is slow and steady wins the race.I like this moral because it tells me not to go to fast or slow. It tells me to go at the pace for you.
When I look and read this fable it is different then the other tortise and the hares I read. I want you to read this fable Mrs.Hamilton.
From your student,
Matthew Craig

Allison - Fable: The Fox and the Crow
Dear Mrs.Hamilton,
I just read this amazing fable, the Fox and the Crow. When I read the title it made me think that the story was going to be similar to the Fox and the grapes.(Which was another fable I read).
I think the Crow would seem the good guy but in one part of the beginning it says "A Crow who had stolen a piece of meat was sitting high up on the branch of a tree" made me think if I thought the Crow was a good guy then why did it say that he stole a piece of meat then?
I think the moral of this fable is " Don't compete for what you already have" I really enjoyed reading this fable.

Jessica - Fable:The Tortoise and the Hare
Dear Mrs Hamilton,
When I was reading the fable The Tortoise and the Hare. I was wondering why the hare decided to go to sleep because if I fell asleep I probably would sleep through the whole race, just like the hare did. The hare might be fast but since he did that I definitely do not think he is very smart!
I really like the way the author this fable because the message is very clear to me. Another reason is I love how he took such an unlikely character to win and found a great way to make him win with a great message.
I really liked the two beginning paragraphs. This is because all the other times I have read this fable it's always been the same. It just jumps right into the race but in this version it adds the feelings. Like why the tortoise challenged the hare to the race and some conversation during the race this is what the hare said "How do you expect to win the race when you are walking along at your slow, slow pace? I have never heard that before.
When it said "but it was to late.Tortoise was over the line", it reminded me of last years track and field in the 400 I was ruuning to the finish line but then Sophia crossed it first!
Sincerely,
Jessica

Makenna - Fable: The Fox and the Grapes
Dear Mrs.Hamilton,
I am reading the fable the fable "The Fox and the Grapes!"
This story confused me alot. I think I was confused because I am used to more detailed stories! A word confused me as well. The word "gaping" but, I believe it means grabbing or reaching for.
I think I would feel the same way the fox felt when he could not get the grapes!
I can make a connection to this fable as well as the moral because I really wanted an ipod but both my parents said it was to expensive1 So whenever I saw an ipod I got really mad and upset because I could not get it!
Unlike the fox I would not get really give up and walk away! I would keep trying untill I could get it!
Even though it did confuse me at parts I still enjoyed the fable!
Sincerely,
Makenna

Darko - Fable: The Fox and the Grapes
Dear Mrs.Hamilton
I have just finished a really good fable called "The Fox and The Grapes" I really like this story because all the details like a fox. "One day spied on a beautiful bunch of ripe grapes, ready to burst with juice, and as he gazed longingly at them."
This story reminded me of when I went to the grocery store and I wanted to get some big grown strawberrys but my dad said it's not on the list, maybe next time.
I hope you enjoy this story as much as I do. ☺

Fable: The Monkey and the Crocodile - Melody
Dear mrs. Hamilton,
I am reading a story called "The Monkey and the Crocodile".
I think there is a message in this text. I think it might be "Choose
your friends wisely and/or make better decistions, or stop and think
before you act."
I think I can make a prediction. I can predict that when the crocodile
is gone, the wife will come and say her appolgies and not mean it,and
invite him over again and she will eat him!
The part I liked the best was that the monkey was being so generous
and giving the crocodile some jamun fruit.
The part I disliked that the wife is so disrespectful to the monkey when the
monkey is giving them food and she actually would pretend to
almost die.
The part that puzzled me was what are jamuns because in the book
it said that jamuns are a kind of fruit. It only gave me a little bit of
information.
The part that surprised me was that the crocodile really almost brought
his best friend the monkey to his wife to get eaten.
Sincerely,
Melody

Picture Book: Mr. Peabody's Apples By: Madonna Ritchie
Dear Ms. Hamilton,
When I read the book Mr. Peabody's apples, I was suprised when Mr.Peabody took 2 apples from the fruit market and then at the end I found out that he pays for them every Saturday.
A part in the story, I found out that it teaches you a lesson, you shouldn't pass rumors around if they're not true. That part in the story was when Mr. Peabody told Billy to get a fluffy pillow, then cut it in half and let the feathers fly off across Happville and then told him that those feathers were like people. Then told him to go pick all those feathers up so Billy realized that he shouldn't have started that rumor because it was like telling all of those feathers that rumor and now he has to tell them it wasn't true.
Sincerely,
Daniyal.
